Wolfgang Hager: circa 1905

This is a photo of my grand-uncle Wolfgang Hager, who served on the USS Texas in the first decade of the 20th Century. I am not certain that this was taken aboard the Texas or another ship. Wolfgang is slightly left and above the arrow. I have no names for others in the photo. View full size.

Ship I.D.

That ship in the background does not look like the first battleship Texas (1895-1911). The sailors appear to have been coaling ship though. If they were doing this at sea, they would have been alongside a coal transport. Sometimes two ships simultaneously coaled from the same transport as well. This might explain the unidentified vessel in the background.

Do you have any more photos taken aboard the the Texas?
