What a difference

What a difference a few years makes; this shot was taken by my Uncle Walter, a tipper truck driver in the R.A.S.C. stationed in Berlin in 1945. Unfortunately US Army daytrippers spoiled his shot!

"That’s in the centre of Berlin. They’re Americans. I was going to take a photograph of this statue, and then these wagons drove in, and they started getting out. So I just took the photograph anyway!"
