World's Fair: 1939

Taken at the World's Fair in July 1939, my very first trip to the fair. I stayed there all day and into the night, where I listened to the Hal Kemp orchestra play to the happy dancers on the dance floor. I remember taking in many of the exhibits, such as General Motors, Westinghouse, Con Edison, and seeing the famed parachute tower.
This photo was taken with a very small folding camera which was given away by the Manischewitz Bread Company if you sent in three wrappers of their bread. The camera was so unique, it accepted 00 size film, making it difficult to find a processor for that film. View full size.
