Winter Job (Colorized): 1910

Colorized from this Shorpy original. This Lewis Hine photo really spoke to me for some reason -- not that I ever spent time as a child labourer in a coal mine that I recall. Anyway, this is my first attempt at Photoshop colorizing. View full size.

Vulcan Iron Works (Colorized): 1865

Colorized from this Shorpy original. This is my second attempt at colorizing a Civil War image. Since I had no color photos to base my color choices on, I had to rely on Civil War movie set photos and Civil War era antiques. To break the monotony of browns in this image, and as an eye candy, I made the right side wagon (which seems to be an abandoned higher quality coach) a more colorful one then the others. I wish I could see that crazy iron contraption in real life. That would really make my day. View full size.
