Anderson, IN (1956). My Grandmother (Bernhardine Minna Florinda Anna “Hedwig” Happel) sits in her home admiring the Christmas tree. On the table are two leather 35mm camera cases. The darker one was my father's Petri. The maroon box holds a slide viewer and to the side of the table is a bright red and yellow metal 35mm film canister.

Grandma would see one more Christmas before passing away at age 71 five months before I was born. The pictures, bookcase, books and bust of Dante are now in the homes of her grandchildren. View full size.
