If he lived long enough, he'd have been one of those fantastically skilled glass blowers who just know everything. That look on his face is of competence and talent, burned into him.
My grandfather made $12.50 a week at Mohawk Carpet Mills in Amsterdam, N.Y., a slightly higher wage than this kid made. Enough to support his wife and six kids.
