BUY PRINT May 13, 1911. "Harvard Eddie" Grant, third baseman for the Cincinnati Reds. A Harvard grad who practiced law after retiring from baseball, Eddie was among the first to enlist in the Army after the U.S. entered World War I in 1917. An infantry captain, he was killed by an exploding shell in France, where he is buried. Gelatin silver print by Paul Thompson.
